wethefarm is named to reflect the interconnected-ness of life: we farm not just edible plants, but also the soil, the soil enriched using compost we created using food waste from the foodcourt, food waste that came from unwanted/uneaten food, food that was grown elsewhere by other farmers from other countries, to just waste the food is such a disrespect not just to the farmers but also the natural system that generated that food. Hence we collect these unwanted waste to turn them into compost. wethefarm, the name is all small letters to signify that no one letter is bigger than the other, all are equal here. We believe this reflects the value of what we do too, and how we see the world around us. For example, while small, the bees help pollinate big trees which then provide small fruits to nourish other creatures. Each has a role to contribute no one is more important than the other.
